<B>1843-D $2 1/2 Small D MS62 PCGS.</B></I> Variety 4-D. Major varieties of this date are known with either a Large D or a Small D as illustrated by this example. The Small D variation is much more plentiful, but all are rare in Mint State grades. In circulated grades, this date is considered an excellent candidate for type set collectors, although only about a dozen Mint State examples are known. Both sides of this lovely piece are fully detailed. The surfaces have fully brilliant light green-gold surfaces with satiny, slightly reflective luster.
