<B>1843-C $5 Large Diameter XF40 NGC.</B></I> Variety 6-C. NGC has certified two examples of the 1843-C as Large Diameter, the present piece and an AU58. Presumably the wrong collar die was used, perhaps the Broad Mill collar of 1840. The curls are softly struck, as is the eagle's neck and fletchings.
