<B>1843-C $5 AU55 NGC.</B></I> Variety 6-C, Die State II, showing a light crack from the eagle's left (right facing) wing tip. The 1843-C half eagle is a rare date from the lower AU grades on up through Mint State. Bright yellow-gold surfaces display traces of luster in the recessed areas on this choice AU example. The design elements are sharply defined, except for the normal weakness in the hair about Liberty's ear.
