<B>1843-C $2 1/2 Small Date, Crosslet 4--Altered Surface--NCS. XF Details.</B></I> Variety 4-C. Cloudy yellow-gold surfaces display a greenish cast and reveal fine hairlines from buffing, and portions of Liberty's hair and the eagle's plumage are smooth.
