<B>1843-C $2 1/2 Large Date, Plain 4 MS61 NGC.</B></I> Variety 5-D. Bright yellow-gold surfaces exhibit a hint of greenish color. This piece is sharply struck and minimally abraded. The two varieties of this date are easily distinguished by the presence of a crosslet 4 on the Small Date and a plain 4 on the Large Date. The Large Date variety is easily the more common of the two, yet it is elusive in Mint State grades.
