<B>1843 50C PR64 NGC.</B></I> Ex: Pittman. This is the second Pittman example, not from his complete proof set, but his duplicate! When David Akers cataloged this coin in 1998, he provided a Census of just six known examples with a note that possibly two others also exist. NGC has certified four proof 1843 half dollars, including one finer example that they graded PR66 Cameo (4/07).<BR> This example is fully detailed with fully mirrored fields beneath deep iridescent toning. It is almost certainly a splendid cameo piece, although the toning prevents such a designation.
