Quarter Dollars 1842-o Large Date. Breen-3950. NGC graded Mint State 64. <b>Very rare in this choice condition, a sharply struck impression on perfect planchet. Spot- and corrosion-free, the surface is awash in frosty mint bloom under original dusky medium gray with pastel champagne undertone. Rim denticles are for the most part complete and, if not sharp, at least clear -- this being an area where weakness normally occurs. As to Liberty and the eagle, each is respectably bold, showing all of the finer details so that even with the unaided eye a person can see that the coin was carefully made. It has been carefully preserved as well, and now resides in a protective holder carrying the 64 grade. Mintage this year was 612,000 for the large date issue and 157,000 for those having smaller digits in the date. The coin is, however, very rare choice, with only a handful of Uncirculateds reported. Most either circulated, got exported, or withdrawn by the government in 1853-5 and melted.</b> <p align="center">Superior Galleries was founded in 1929 and has been a leader in
