<B>1842-O 50C Small Date, Small Letters XF45 PCGS.</B></I> The Reverse of 1839. WB-101, confirmed by no crosslet on 4 of the date. Randy Wiley and Bill Bugert (1993) write: "WB-101 is extremely scarce in all grades (but especially above XF) and is one of the key varieties of the entire series." The authors assign a high R.6 rating to XF/AU WB-101 coins. This Choice XF specimen displays bright, silvery surfaces visited by peripheral cobalt-blue and lavender toning, and traces of golden-tan around portions of the central devices. All of the design elements are sharply defined.
