<B>1842-O 50C Small Date, Small Letters--Cleaned--ANACS. XF45 Details.</B></I> WB-101. Although noticeably cleaned, as noted on the ANACS holder, this coin represents one of the finer available examples of this noteworthy Seated half dollar variety, which is generally found in VF or lower grades when it can be located at all. By far the scarcer of the two 1842-O <I>Guide Book</B></I> varieties, and easily attributed by the lack of a crosslet on the 4 and by the small size of the reverse lettering. Often referred to as the reverse of 1841, although die state evidence shows that 1841-O half dollars struck with this reverse were actually struck <I>after</B></I> this issue.
