Of the original mintage of 4,643 pieces, it is estimated by Winter that only 75 to 85 exist in all grades, with About Uncirculated examples a small fraction of that. Although NGC records five Mint State examples, PCGS has graded none, and it is impossible to know exactly how many of those pieces represent resubmissions. On this Choice AU piece, the wheat-gold surfaces retain soft but significant peripheral luster.
