1842-D $2 1/2 AU50 ICG. Variety 3-F. With a mintage of 4,643 pieces, this is one of the less available Dahlonega quarter eagles, and the difficulty increases dramatically for higher grades. Though this lightly worn piece has the usual striking weakness on Liberty's brow and the eagle's legs, the surfaces, orange-gold with traces of jade, have an air of originality. An abrasion on the chin and others in the fields account for the grade.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
