<B>1842-C $2 1/2 --Planchet Flaw--NCS. AU Details.</B></I> This is an AU53 to AU55 coin that has a large and fairly noticeable mint-made planchet defect on the obverse that begins at the throat of Liberty and continues down into the field to the right of the date. This is, of course, a mint error and it is possible that an enterprising successful bidder could have it reholdered at another grading service and designated as an error. Overall, an acceptable example of one of the rarest quarter eagles produced at this mint.
