<B>(1842-52)<G$1> A.Bechtler Dollar, 27G. 21C. MS62 NGC.</B></I> K-24, R.3. The Bechtler family was active in North Carolina commerce from the early 1830s through the end of the 1840s. August Bechtler was a son of Alt Christoph Bechtler, and continued the elder Bechtler's coinage through the second decade of their operations. Light yellow-gold surfaces with a hint of green. Both the obverse and the reverse are slightly prooflike. The obverse, containing the denomination, shows no die cracks indicating a very early state of the dies.
