(1842-1852?) A. Bechtler<G$1> Dollar, 27G. 21C. Reeded Edge VF30 PCGS. Breen-7763, K-25, R.8. This is the rare Reeded Edge variant, and apparently one of just perhaps three examples known. Aside from this example, we are only aware of the Kagin plate coin, and another that we handled in our June 2001 Long Beach sale. Pale greenish-gold surfaces with hints of rose toning at the borders. The obverse is lightly scratched, and both sides have faint hairlines and other minor abrasions. An extremely important opportunity for the advanced specialist. This variant is not listed in the 2006 Guide Book.
