President William Henry Harrison's 1841 Inaugural Address
1841 Rare Type William Henry Harrison’s Inaugural Address Broadside, Printed on Silk, Very Fine.
This large and impressive 22” x 16.5” Black Printed off-white Silk Broadside is titled: “General William Henry Harrison's Inaugural Address, On Entering Upon The Duties Of President Of The United States; March Fourth, Eighteen Hundred And Forty-One.” Nice eye appeal and overall quality sheen. Very minor loss to a few words at top vertical fold, some expected tone and a few trivial scattered spots. Part of right edge is folded over, still fully present and nicely finished on two sides. Overall condition is vastly above average for this rare type. Harrison's Inaugural speech was the longest on record and was delivered in bitter cold temperature, resulting in his death from pneumonia exactly one month later. Extremely Rare, this being the first example we have seen.
President William Henry Harrison's 1841 Inaugural Address is famous and infamous. It was the longest in Presidential history and took Two Hours to read. He did not wear either a hat or coat, caught pneumonia, which then caused his Death in just 30 Days!
