A nice natural appearing Model 1836 Flintlock Service Pistol in good working order and nice in eye appeal for display. U.S. Military Model 1836 Flintlock Service Pistol, marked “R. JOHNSON, MIDDN. CONN. 1841”. The Lock is stamped with Maker's Mark below “U S” Inspector's mark. It has a. 8.5" .54 caliber round Iron barrel, Stamped at breech with Inspector's marks; “J H” and has a Brass blade front sight, measuring 14" in overall length. It is in its original Flintlock configuration with Captive ramrod. The Stock has two very clear Inspector's Cartouche Stamps on the left side at the rear of the side plate. Overall, very solid with light expected scratches and dings from years of actual use in service.
