1841 10C MS65 PCGS. Greer-101. The 184 in the date have been repunched north--the diagnostic feature of this die marriage. While the 1841 does not always come sharply struck, this coin is essentially full in all areas. The reverse is uniformly frosted while the obverse exhibits a semi-prooflike finish beneath layers of apricot-gray, blue, and golden-orange colors. A slate-gray center gives way to orange tinged peripheral accents on the reverse of this original, distraction-free Gem. Although common in circulated grades, the 1841 (1.6 million coins produced) is a scarce to rare date in Mint State. Population: 4 in 65, there are none finer (9/02).
