1841 $10 MS62 PCGS. One of numerous unsung condition rarities in the early Liberty Eagle series, the 1841 (63,131 pieces struck) is rarely offered in grades above the XF level. In Mint State, the two major grading services can account for just 16 examples, the finest of which grade MS63. This high end BU representative is exceptionally attractive for the grade with rich orange-gold overtones and more deeply set green-gold coloration. Sharp striking definition is noted throughout, as are some light-to-moderate abrasions, none of which are individually conspicuous. A tiny spot within the lower vertical stripes of the reverse shield is the most significant pedigree marker. We are aware of only one other 1841 Eagle certified MS62 by PCGS. That coin sold for $18,700 as lot 6236 in our October 1995 Long Beach Signature Sale. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
