<B>1841 1/2 C Original PR64 Red NGC.</B></I> B-1, R.6. The Large Berries reverse, which identifies this specimen as an original proof, struck in or near 1841. It is roughly equal in rarity to the small berries restrike, which was coined sometime after half cent production ended in 1857 and collector demand arose for complete 1840 to 1857 proof sets. This razor-sharp near-Gem features bright pumpkin-orange and pastel rose surfaces. Essentially void of marks, and carbon is also minimal. NGC has certified just two pieces as Red, both in the PR64 grade (11/07).
