The first quarter eagle produced at the Dahlonega Mint and the only Classic Head quarter eagle coined at that facility define the two-fold importance of the date. Two die pairs, one obverse and two different reverses, were required to produce 13,674 coins. The varieties are immediately distinguished by either a bold or weak branch stem above the D in the denomination. Lightly cleaned yellow-gold surfaces are minimally abraded.

Coin Engraver: William Kneass

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
