<B>1839-C $2 1/2 MS62 ICG.</B></I> Overdate Variety 2-A. Struck from the first set of obverse and reverse dies, with the familiar die crack from the rim through the E in STATES. This piece combines its natural green-gold alloy with an overlay of reddish patina. The devices are well defined in the centers, with characteristic bluntness only on a few of the obverse stars. There is a large shallow planchet lamination (as struck) on the cheek.
