<B>1839 $10 Type of 1838, Large Letters--Cleaned--ANACS. AU50 Details.</B></I> ANACS notes this coin as "Repunched Date," but many--perhaps most--numismatists know it as the 1839/8 overdate. The hair style and bust truncation, as well as the reverse letter style, differ significantly from the later Type of 1840. This piece show light hairlines, and numerous small digs appear on the portrait of Liberty.
