1838 N-4 R2 PCGS graded MS66 BrownLustrous brown and light olive. The surfaces are satiny and the only marks are a small spot of darker toning (not carbon) in the field at the middle of the nose and two tiny ticks right of star 5. LDS, die state g, with a cud break from the rim under the 83 reaching up to the base of the 8 but not quite touching the 3. (In the latest state, this cud touches the 3.) Fine die rust covers much of the portrait, especially on the face, leaving a sandpaper texture. A very nice example of this interesting die state. Called MS62 and tied for CC#6 in the Noyes census, his photo #34489. Our grade is MS62+, close to MS63.Certificate Number: 37189.66/13092970Pedigree: Ex Douglas F. Bird 5/5/1996-R. E.
