1838 N-15 R5- PCGS graded MS62 BrownVery attractive frosty medium brown with slightly darker steel brown toning on the highpoints. Frosty mint luster covers the protected areas on both sides and this cent has really nice eye appeal. The only notable marks are a small spot of reddish olive toning at the dentils under the 3, a tiny nick on the rim at star 8, and a light nick slanting through the M & E in AMERICA. MDS, the only die state for the variety. The obverse die is new and sharp while the reverse die is heavily worn from use in the earlier N-11 marriage. Called AU55 and CC#1 in the Bland census. Noyes says EF45 and CC#2, his photo #25835. Our grade is AU50+. AUCTION TERMS OF SALE
1. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer. In case of dispute the auctioneer may at his sole discretion reopen a lot. In all cases the auctioneer’s decision shall be final and binding on bidders.
2. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse to honor any bid which, at his sole discretion, he feels is not submitted in good faith. The auctioneer may withdraw any lot, without prior notice, for any reason whatsoever.
3. All sales are payable in U. S. funds immediately upon receipt of invoice unless other arrangements have been made prior to the sale. Lots will not be released to buyers until paid for in full. Lots delivered in state of sale are subject to all applicable state and local taxes unless appropriate permits are on file with us.
4. Postage will be added to the invoice of all successful mail bidders.
5. A 20% buyer’s fee will be added to all invoices.
6. Please keep in mind this is not an approval sale. All sales are considered final. Sales to the floor may not be returned for any reason save authenticity. Sales to mail bidders are final unless lot proves to have been mis-attributed.
7. Mail bids, or phone bids will be accepted up through the day of the sale. Please direct email bids to friscomint@live.com. All bids will be reduced. Lots will open at one increment above second highest mail/phone bidder. 8. Consignors may bid or place a reserve bid on their own coins. Principals of the auction firm may consign and may bid on coins in the sale for themselves or clients.
