<B>1838 Map of North America</B></I>, 13" x 16", "Entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1838 by T. G. Bradford in the Clerk's Office of the District Court of Massachusetts." Engraving by George W. Boynton. This map, which includes North America, Central America, and the northwest coast of South America, was taken from <I>An Illustrated Atlas, Geographical, Statistical, and Historical, of the United States and the adjacent countries </B></I>published in both Philadelphia and Boston. The atlas included maps of North America, Canada, the United States, 28 U.S. states, the Republic of Texas, the Caribbean, and eight U.S. cities: Washington, New Orleans, Louisville, Cincinnati, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, and Baltimore. The map has been matted and framed to an overall size of 18.75" x 23.5". Light spotting and staining in the margins.
