(1838) J. Burritt and Son, Ithaca, NY, HT-530a, R.9, XF45 Uncertified. This is a newly discovered example of this known counterstamp as described and listed on page 157 in The Standard Catalog of United States Tokens 1700-1900 by Russ Rulau. The host coin is a fairly worn 1809 U.S. large cent, while the counterstamp is strong and grades Extra Fine. There are only three other pieces with this counterstamp reported, and all three have an R.9 rating. This piece should be in the same category and valued the same, which is somewhere between $450-$900. We expect spirited bidding from serious collectors of U.S. counterstamps.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
