<B>1838 H10C Large Stars MS68 <img border='0' src='http://www.heritagecoins.com/images/star.gif' width=10 height=10> NGC.</B></I> A simply amazing example that confounds any explanation for how it survived in such an incredible state of preservation for more than 160 years. The luster is exceptionally strong and seems undimmed from the day it was coined. Liberty and the wreath have uniformly crisp detail, and rich peach, honey, plum, and blueberry patina covers much of each side, though the centers are untoned. A trio of tiny marks in the left obverse field, visible only with the aid of magnification, are the only perceptible flaws on that side, though light die polish lines are noted around Liberty. For the collector who demands nothing but the best, this is the coin.
