As the only D-mint Classic five, the 1838-D is subject to constant pressure by collectors of Classic fives (a short and completable series), Dahlonega collectors, and collectors of first year of issue coins. This piece shows moderate wear and no objectionable marks, just the abrasions one expects for a coin that has seen 25 points of wear.
