<B>1838 50C MS64 PCGS.</B></I> This is an impressive Choice Mint State example of the Capped Bust type with the edge reeded, coined only from the end of 1836 to the beginning of 1839. This type actually has two minor design variations. The 1836 and 1837 pieces have the denomination 50 CENTS, while the 1838 and 1839 pieces have the denomination HALF DOL. An impressive gold toned example, this piece has frosty mint luster beneath the toning, with peripheral blue and lilac accents. It is sharply struck and most attractive.
