<B>1838 25C No Drapery MS64 PCGS.</B></I> This is the first year of issue for this design of quarter dollar, struck during a transition from the Capped Bust design to Gobrecht's Seated Liberty design. Walter Breen noted that coinage of the new design began on September 13, 1838, and from that point forward, 466,000 of these coins were minted prior to December 31. This Choice Mint State piece has strong definition with lilac-gold and slate-gray color on both sides.
