1837 N-4 R2 PCGS graded MS63 Brown, CAC Approved
Lustrous medium brown with slightly darker brown toning on the highpoints and hints of very faded mint color in a few protected areas on the obverse. Smooth and very attractive with trivial marks and only a hint of rub on the very highest points of the devices. A light vertical nick on the jaw and a tiny bit of reddish dirt nestled into the upper right points of star 1 may help identify this cent. Nicely struck EDS with smooth, slightly reflective fields on the obverse. The die crack at F-AMER is faint. Graded AU55 by Noyes, his photo #38530. Our grade is AU58. Comes with a nice provenance. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS Gold Shield label.
