Before Van Buren's inauguration, the ailing President Jackson and then-Vice President Van Buren rode from the White House to the Capitol in a carriage made from the timbers of the U.S.S. Constitution. Two pieces, one AU55 NGC, with much luster and muted red clinging; and a second, AU50 NGC, attractive, with red still in evidence and high-end for the assigned grade.
