<B>(1837-42) G$1 C. Bechtler Dollar, N Reversed MS63 PCGS.</B></I> K-4, R.4. This variety, with the reversed N in ONE, is the most plentiful of all C. Bechtler gold dollars, and it is also the most widely recognized variety in the series, due to the blundered die. The larger size letters in the denomination were almost certainly engraved by hand in the die. The only other explanation for the reversed N on this die is the use of a punch that was also incorrectly made.<BR> This piece is a lovely example with fully prooflike surfaces struck in green-gold, and accented by rich rose toning. The surfaces have typical insignificant marks on each side. Listed on page 349 of the 2008 <I>Guide Book</B></I>. Population: 1 in 63, 2 finer (6/07).<BR><I>From The Stephen L.
