For the five dollar pieces, the Guide Book and the Kagin standard reference generally list the side with BECHTLER as the reverse, although the grading services are less consistent in their placement. The BECHTLER side of the present piece features deep cherry-red and cobalt-blue toning, although the centers remain green-gold. The weight and fineness side has consistent straw-gold color. Luster dominates the legends, and abrasions are minor, limited to a thin diagonal mark beneath the prominent 5 and a few wispy marks above 134 G.
