(1837-42) $5 C.Bechtler Five Dollar, 134G, With Star XF45 PCGS. K-20, R.4. Formerly offered as lot 6411 in our 1996 FUN Sale, where it was described as, "One of the more frequently encountered Bechtler fives, this variety is distinguished by the presence of the coin's weight, 134 G., in the center with a large five-pointed star below. Struck from misaligned dies, both sides exhibit very weak details in certain areas--on the obverse through BE(CHTLE)R and on the reverse through CAROLIN(A GOL)D. Rich reddish patina is splashed over both sides, setting up a notable contrast against the basic green-gold color of the coin." Listed on page 285 of the 2003 Guide Book. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
