<B>(1837-42) $2 1/2 C. Bechtler Quarter Eagle, 67G. 21C. MS62 NGC.</B></I> K-10, R.5. Similar to the Kagin-9 variety, but with 67.G./21 in the center, and a period after CARATS. This rare Bechtler piece shows a somewhat dished appearance, with slight bulging that shows toward the center of the reverse (denomination) side. That side is rotated about 90 degrees counterclockwise from its expected location. This piece has considerable luster remaining on the green-gold surfaces, with tinges of copper color on the reverse. Only a few light scrapes and abrasions are noted, consistent with the MS62 grade. This piece is tied with a half-dozen or so other pieces at both services for the finest certified of this elusive issue.
