<B>(1837-42) $2 1/2 C. Bechtler Quarter Eagle, 67G. 21C.--Cleaned--ANACS. Unc Details, Net AU50.</B></I> K-10, R.5. Produced by a family of jewelers in Rutherfordton, North Carolina, the Bechtler pieces were more widely accepted by their neighbors then coins of the Federal Mint, even after branches were established in Charlotte, NC and Dahlonega, GA. This example clearly has been cleaned and perhaps lightly polished, but it presents a splendid deep green-gold appearance and retains excellent eye appeal.
