1837 25C XF40 ANACS.
1837 25C XF40 ANACS. B-5, R.7. An extremely rare variety that, to the best of our knowledge, has never been previously offered in a Heritage auction. The obverse is shared with Browning-4, and is noted for a 7 in the date that is fully left of the lowest hair curl. The reverse was not known to A.W. Browning. The C in the denomination is repunched, the E in AMERICA is entered low, and TAT in STATES is widely spaced. This moderately circulated and relatively unabraded dove-gray example has traces of luster within the eagle's plumage and about the peripheries. For those intrepid souls who collect early Quarters by Browning variety, this Lot presents an opportunity to purchase a Browning-5 that may not arise again for many years. Important notice: Heritage usually auctions material at the rate of 200-250 lots per hour. On some occasions eBay Live bid software or the Internet may not be able to keep up with the pace of the auction. We recommend placing a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Occasionally the auctioneer may eliminate or reject an eBay Live bid, and the auctioneer may also reopen a lot after the close of the eBay live bidding (usually because we missed an audience bid), and may reject your bid even if it shows you as the winning bidder. By bidding via eBay Live, you agree that Heritage may award the lot to another bidder at its sole discretion under the circumstances described above or any other reasonable circumstances. Also please note that all Heritage lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions before you bid.
