<B>1837<10C> No Stars, Small Date MS65 PCGS.</B></I> Golden-brown and aquamarine freckles adorn the peripheries, while the remainder of this lustrous and sharply struck Gem is essentially untoned. The smooth open fields are splendidly preserved. The No Stars obverse type followed the lead of the 1836 Gobrecht dollar, but the usual 13 stars would be added for the 1838 Philadelphia issue, to conform with the copper and gold designs.
