<B>1836 P$1 Name on Base, Judd-60 Original, Pollock-65, R.1, PR45 NGC.</B></I> Silver. Plain Edge. Die Alignment I (coin turn, center of Liberty's head opposite DO in DOLLAR). One of the so-called First Originals. This piece is from the second striking period in late December, as seen by the faint die scratch above the eagle's wing. This die scratch distinguishes the late December from early December strikings--both are in Die Alignment IV. Most of these pieces from this second striking period were apparently deposited in a local bank, and as a result most are found circulated to some degree.<BR> This piece has even rub over the highpoints on each side.
