<B>1836 P$1 Name on Base, Judd-60 Original, Pollock-65, R.1--Repaired, Cleaned--ANACS. Fine 15 Details.</B></I> Silver. Plain Edge. Die Alignment I (Liberty's head opposite DO). One of 400 pieces struck in early December 1836. All these coins were struck with a proof finish, even though they were intended for circulation. There is no trace of the die scratch on the reverse, which would identifies late December strikings. The fields have been smoothed and each side is notably hairlined.
