1835 N-8 R1 PCGS graded MS64RB.
1835 N-8 R1 PCGS graded MS64RB. PCGS graded MS-64 Red & Brown. Head of 1836. Highly lustrous and very attractive frosty bluish steel brown and light olive with faded mint color covering the protected areas on both sides, at least 20% of the surface displaying some of the faded red. There is a shallow low spot on the neck (caused by debris on the die) and a dull nick just left of the low spot. Otherwise this cent is virtually flawless and the satiny luster offers outstanding eye appeal. MDS with the usual die crack passing up the right side of the 1 in the date and through the portrait to star 8 where it fades out (identical state as the preceding lot). Called MS70- and CC#1 in the Bland census. Noyes says MS65 and tied for CC#1, his photo #21785. Our grade is MS64+, close to MS65. PCGS Population 2; 1 finer in 65RB. Estimated Value $2,000-UP.
