1835 H10C Small Date, Large 5C MS67 NGC. V-5, LM-8, R.2. While the LM-8 is a common variety, the earliest die state listed in Logan-McCloskey is an 8.1 with evidence of several minor die cracks. This spectacular coin shows no evidence of any of those cracks. This leads us to wonder if this piece could have been among the first examples struck of this variety. Each side exudes bright, sparkling mint luster. The centers are brilliant and surrounded by a ring of deep golden with cobalt-blue at the margins. A bit weakly struck in on Liberty's hair curls and on the left border of the shield, but the peripheral devices are fully detailed. The fields display a bit of semi-reflectivity, undoubtedly from being struck from a fresh set of dies.

Coin Engraver: William Kneass

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
