<B>1835 Bradford's Map of Texas</B></I> , 12.75" x 10.25". With accompanying text of similar size headed "<I>Texas</B></I>," two pages, front and verso, beginning "<I>It is a northeastern province of the republic of Mexico, and is at present engaged in an arduous struggle for independence.</B></I>" Light folds in upper bank corner. This map (identified as "<I>64.A.</B></I>") and two page text ("<I>64B</B></I>" and "<I>64C</B></I>") have been removed from T.G. Bradford's atlas, Boston and New York, 1835. <B>This is the first separate map of Texas ever to appear in an atlas.</B></I> All grants are identified, e.g. "<I>Stephen F. Austins Grant</B></I>," "<I>Burnets Grant</B></I>," "<I>Dewitts Grant</B></I>," "<I>Zavalias Grant</B></I>," etc., as are areas labeled "<I>Comanches Indians</B></I>" and "<I>Austins Colony</B></I>." All grants and areas are outlined in color. Both sheets are lightly foxed; chipped edge where removed from atlas.
