1835 $5 MS62 NGC. First Head. Breen-6504, McCloskey 1-A, R.3. Warm green-gold color dominates the outward appearance of this satin textured representative. We do note, however, that the color brightens to yellow-gold shades as the coin turns into the light. There is not a single ill-defined feature, and the sharp surfaces, while not abrasion-free, are silent on the subject of sizeable blemishes. The second-year 1835 was produced to the extent of 371,534 pieces. It is the third most common Classic Half Eagle after the 1834 and 1836, but the vast majority of survivors are circulated to one degree or another. This issue is particularly scarce in the finer Mint State grades. Population: 8 in 62, 21 finer (7/02). Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
