1835<25C> PR63 PCGS. B-7, R.2 as a business strike, High R.7 as a proof. Dappled golden-brown and dove-gray colors endow this meticulously struck specimen. Browning-7 is readily identified as the variety without a period after the C in 25 C, and most among the handful of known proofs for the date are from this die pairing. Despite the rich toning, the fields are flashy and show no evidence of cartwheel luster. Some moderate marks are detected on the left obverse; these are by no means conspicuous because of subsequent toning. A small planchet flaw (as made) is seen beneath the first star and Liberty's neck, and serves to identify the present piece in the event of future auction appearances. Population: 1 in 63, 1 finer (10/05).
