1835 25C MS64 NGC. B-4, R.4. This scarce variety is distinguished by the curl that is placed wholly over the 5, no tongue on the eagle, and the branch stem is to the left of the upper serif on the C. The obverse is cracked from the border at left opposite star 5, extending down, connecting the four stars below and the under front part of the bust. Another crack runs from the rim at 5 o'clock to the curl.
Patches of cobalt-blue, lavender, and russet adorn each side, and sharp definition is visible on the design elements, save for softness on the stars along the left border. A few minor handling marks preclude full Gem classification. Census: 18 in 64, 4 finer (1/08).

Coin Engraver: William Kneass

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
