1835 $2.50 Classic Head PCGS MS64
1835 $2.50 Classic Head. PCGS graded MS64. Clean as a whistle, as one would look forward to from the grade; however, what really makes this break free from others is its cartwheel luster that rolls around each side with warm orange toning in areas as well as indications of prooflike surface in the field. True to life to every detail from a full blow by the dies, with only marginal softness is found at the topmost hair curl above Liberty's ear; the corresponding area of the shield is also a trifle weak, but other areas of the design are definitely bold. A very scarce early gold piece when offered in choice Mint condition.

ATTRACTIVELY TONED 1835 QUARTER EAGLE.

This head style has the first curl, at upper left, much smaller than previous styles of 1834. Liberty's head is smaller than before. This was the final modification prepared by William Kneass, with Christian Gobrecht taking responsibility the next year (PCGS # 7693)
