<B>1835 $2 1/2 AU58 NGC.</B></I> McCloskey-1, R.2. Identified by the widely spaced AM in AMERICA, this variety is the most plentiful of three known die pairs for the 1835 quarter eagle coinage. All three varieties were coined from a single obverse die and three reverse dies. Two of the three reverses were dies originally used in 1834.
