1834 N-7 R7 (Proof-Only) Large 8, Stars, & Letters, PCGS graded PR10Glossy medium brown and light chocolate delicately woodgrained with lighter brown on the reverse. No roughness, just even wear and small contact marks. None of the marks is significant, and nearly all of them are invisible to the unaided eye, but there are quite a few, especially on the obverse. A small, dull nick under the front of the eye and a light horizontal nick right of star 3 can help identify this cent. Only 9 examples of this proof-only variety are known to us, and 3 of those are well worn. This piece is the best of the "well-worn" group. So if you want to avoid paying sports-car-money to obtain the rarest variety in the 1816-1839 cent series, then this is your chance. AUCTION TERMS OF SALE
1. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer. In case of dispute the auctioneer may at his sole discretion reopen a lot. In all cases the auctioneer’s decision shall be final and binding on bidders.
2. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse to honor any bid which, at his sole discretion, he feels is not submitted in good faith. The auctioneer may withdraw any lot, without prior notice, for any reason whatsoever.
3. All sales are payable in U. S. funds immediately upon receipt of invoice unless other arrangements have been made prior to the sale. Lots will not be released to buyers until paid for in full. Lots delivered in state of sale are subject to all applicable state and local taxes unless appropriate permits are on file with us.
4. Postage will be added to the invoice of all successful mail bidders.
5. A 20% buyer’s fee will be added to all invoices.
6. Please keep in mind this is not an approval sale. All sales are considered final. Sales to the floor may not be returned for any reason save authenticity. Sales to mail bidders are final unless lot proves to have been mis-attributed.
7. Mail bids, or phone bids will be accepted up through the day of the sale. Please direct email bids to friscomint@live.com. All bids will be reduced. Lots will open at one increment above second highest mail/phone bidder.
